Bidding opens a 10am(edt) on Thursday 11/3 and closes at 7pm(edt) on Saturday 11/5
“edt” stands for Eastern Daylight Savings Time. For help with converting to your timezone the online World Clock may be helpful. New York City is a good reference city to use as they are in the edt time zone.
Patience, Grasshopper. If you click on an item in the catalog before the auction goes “live” (on Thursday 11/3), the Item Thread may not open. Please bookmark the catalog page and revisit during the live hours of the auction (8am 11/3 – 7pm 11/5)
Registration is required to bid on any item. If you currently have access to the Message Board (MB) and chat, you are already registered.
Each auction item is offered for bid on a separate “thread” on the MB.
The first post in the thread includes a large photo and description of the item
Bidders make comments, ask questions and post their bids using the “Quick Reply” text entry box at the bottom of the thread page.
NOTE: be sure to advance to the LAST page in the thread to see the latest bid.
There is no minimum starting bid. Starting bids are left to bidder’s discretion.
There is no minimum amount for bid increases. Bidding amounts are left to bidder’s discretion.
Option 1: Bookmark the page and check the Item Thread for the latest post
Option 2: Use the MB “subscribe to this thread” feature to receive a notice when someone posts to the thread
Item Threads will be closed at 7pm on 11/5. Check the thread(s) for the item(s) you were bidding on. If you have the last (and highest bid), you have won the item.
SMART pays s/h, however you may wish to consider adding something extra to your auction payment for items won to help offset postage costs
