How Everyday Shopping Can Benefit SMART Recovery
Momrox, SMART Recovery Online Facilitator
Have you ever wanted to make a donation to SMART Recovery® but didn’t because you didn’t have the cash to spare? Or because you were out of checks, stamps or envelopes? Or because you couldn’t make the time to click through the links on the website to get to your paypal account? Maybe you don’t have a Paypal account. Or maybe you keep meaning to donate, but it keeps slipping to the bottom of your To-Do List.
The answer: GoodShop and GoodSearch.
I love my GoodShop/GoodSearch browser toolbar. It saves me money and allows me to direct a percentage of the amount of my online purchases to SMART Recovery. I do the shopping and GoodShop does the giving!

Most major online merchants (Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy’s, Barnes & Noble, ToysRUs, Office Depot and Walgreens to name a few) have teamed up with GoodShop to contribute a percentage of the sales made through the GoodShop Gateway to the nonprofit of the purchaser’s choice. Having the GoodShop toolbar installed saves me time (I don’t have to look up merchants to see if they participate) and money……donations are painless and cost me nothing.
The toolbar was quick to download and easy to install and makes the savings and donating automatic. Each time I visit a merchant that participates with Goodshop, the toolbar lights up with coupon offers and shows me the percentage of my purchase that will be donated to SMART Recovery®.
The toolbar also includes a search feature, powered by Yahoo. For each search I make using the toolbar, approximately 1 cent is donated to SMART Recovery… just a penny, but they do add up. And of course the more of us who participate the faster they add up. If 500 members used GoodSearch an average of 4 times a day every day, GoodSearch would donate over $7,000 to SMART Recovery over the course of the year.
